"Diamond Jim" or "Big Jim" Colosimo was the founder of the infamous Chicago Outfit, Illinois' most successful criminal organization. He also has the dubious honour of co-founding the Midwest's White Slave Ring.
The early years of the gangster who "made" Frankie Yale and Al Capone two of the most powerful men in the country. Torrio was a member of New York’s infamous Five Points Gang before he launched a more successful career as part of "Big Jim" Colosimo’s Chicago Outfit.
Having murdered his boss "Big Jim" Colosimo, Torrio was in a position not only to take over the Chicago Outfit, but to seize control of all the gangs throughout the city. But his Chicago Crime Syndicate did not go unopposed, and Dean O’Banion’s Northsiders would be a constant thorn in his side.
Dean O'Banion was a playful criminal, fond of trickery and flower arranging. During the Prohibition, he was the leader of the Northsiders, a gang who controlled the beer trade in Chicago's Northside and included Dean's close friends; Hymie Weiss, Vincent Drucci and Bugs Moran.
During the 1920s, Dean O'Banion's larcenous sense of humor got him in a lot trouble with powerful Italian mobsters Johnny Torrio, Al Capone and the Genna brothers, a situation that lead to his death in Schofield's Flower Shop in 1924.
Earl "Hymie" Weiss was the Dean O'Banion's closest friend during the Prohibition, and the task of avanging O'Banion's death fell on his shoulders. Under Weiss' leadership, the Chicago Northsiders waged war with Torrio, Capone and the Genna Brothers.
